Properties - Carminative, digestive aid, appetite stimulant

Common Uses - Used in cooking, as dill water (made by adding a few drops of the oil to water) or as tea made from pouring boiling water over the seeds.

Locating & Handling - Purchase fresh leaves in the fresh herb area of the grocery store. Dried leaves and seeds will be found in the spice section. For the oil, check an herbal supplier. Can be grown outdoors.

Origin - Native to Mediterranean and southern Russia. Used in ancient Greece and Rome.
